Saltire’s new state-of-the-art facility takes on-shore make-up of assemblies and testing to a new level. With two torquing units, a Jar Testing bed and Pressure Testing Pit, we guarantee that customer requirements are met to the highest standard.
Saltire’s in-house capabilities of testing our own Jars allow for tight turn around times to be achieved. As a result, we can effectively prioritise and support our customers’ operations.
HT 14:200 Torqueing Unit
  • Maximum Make-up Torque - 160,000 ft/lbs
  • Maximum Break Out Torque – 200,000 ft/lbs
  • Fixed Headstock Capacity – 2-3/8” – 14” OD
  • Travelling Tailstock Capacity – 2-3/8” – 14” OD
  • Tailstock has a Top Open Option allowing safe and efficient loading of Tubulars
  • Self-Centering Cylinders for Safe Centering of Tools
  • No Changing of Jaws Required
Fully Rotational Torqueing Unit:
  • Maximum Make-Up Torque – 100,000 ft/lbs
  • Minimum Make-Up Torque – 100 ft/lbs
  • Automated self-leveling tool support jacks
  • Hydraulically full floating heads – no need for additional utilities i.e. compressed air
  • Multiple graph overlay and make-up trend – instantly highlights any anomalies in make-up
  • Tailstock has a Top Open Option allowing safe and efficient loading of Tubulars
  • Fully extendable clamping jaws that grip the machine’s entire pipe range without the requirement to change jaws
  • Fully programmable support jacks to ensure pipe alignment
Jar Testing Bed:
  • Plot Pressure (PSI) or force (lbs) against time (s) or distance (metric or imperial) charts
  • Replaces the “ruler and stopwatch method”. One or more operators no longer need to stand over jar during a test
  • A definitive result after the test sequence which will clearly show if a test has passed or failed based on the criteria set by the operator
  • A failed test will clearly show on the report, marked in red, exactly why the test has failed
  • Test sequence that will fire the jar up and down up to 10 times each without any intervention by the operator
  • Store up to 500,000 tests
