MIKE Loggie

FOUNDER & CHIEF EXECUTIVE

Mike left school at the age of 16 to work in a local jute mill before joining the RAF. On leaving the RAF, Mike recognised potential in the industry for employment and in the early 70s started working as a roughneck on an oil rig in the Arabian Gulf.

After a period of investing and acquiring a series of successful businesses, including during the lowest ebb in the sector for decades – $8 a barrel oil, Mike launched Cansco Equipment and Rental.

Thirty years later, the venture still exists as Saltire Energy – the leading supplier of state-of-the-art drilling tools to the global energy industry.

Peter Gray

MANAGING DIRECTOR

Peter has been working in the energy industry since 1982. On completion of his Mechanical Engineering HND, he sought a role as a Material Controller which saw him engineering construction projects, both on and offshore. Before joining Saltire in 2000, he’d worked at oil majors and some of the world’s largest service companies, seeking a role with Saltire because of the company’s excellent reputation and its unlimited potential for growth.

He thrives on the satisfaction obtained on the delivery of quality, reliable products and services, proven by the company’s rapid expansion since inception.

Thirty years later, the venture still exists as Saltire Energy – the leading supplier of state-of-the-art drilling tools to the global energy industry.

Jack Loggie

REGIONAL DIRECTOR

From an early age, Jack had his sights set on a career in the energy industry. It’s with the first-hand experience and knowledge of the company’s offering, equipment and tools, gained whilst starting his career as a yard labourer, that Jack has steadily progressed at Saltire. He credits the talented team, and its thorough understanding and knowledge, as integral in enabling the business to excel globally.

SEAN HAMILTON

OPERATIONS DIRECTOR

Sean has worked in the sector for nearly 15 years, holding several key roles with companies across the industry. He’s been with Saltire since 2008, most recently establishing and launching the company’s Norwegian base.

PAULINE PERFECT

FINANCIAL DIRECTOR

Pauline has been with Saltire Energy for 25 years, where she started her career as an Accounts Assistant, quickly progressing to Financial Controller before being promoted to the firm’s Financial Director. She’s proud to have developed her career with Saltire and has been integral to the company’s growth – from a small firm to a much-acclaimed multinational one.

PETER ROSS

RENTAL MANAGER

Peter started his Saltire career nearly twenty years ago when he worked in the workshop as a tubular and handling tools coordinator. Peter has been a constant in the success of Saltire and now manages the rental side of the business. He sought a role at Saltire (all those years ago!) because he wanted to work for a company which shared his outlook on sound customer service and delivering on promises.

BRIAN BYIERS

RENTAL & PRODUCTION MANAGER

Having worked in numerous roles in the energy sector since the early 1980s – from offshore subsea projects to drilling and managerial jobs onshore – Brian has the sound experience and understanding required to support the business in its growth.

GRAEME YACKIMINIE

OPERATIONS MANAGER

Graeme has held many roles during his 30 years working in the industry, including a Planning Engineer, QA Engineer and a stint as a QC Inspector. He has been the Operations Manager of Saltire Pressure Control since inception, and his experience is unrivalled.

He enjoys the fast-paced multifaceted nature of the work at Saltire as well as the opportunity for imagination and innovation.
