Saltire Energy sends a huge congratulations to our own Laura Murray who has won the latest LET Access Tour event at Golf Club Am Meer in Germany. This huge win has moved Laura up to 4th place in the Order of Merit in which the Top 5 ranked golfers receive their tour card for next year.
Laura finished 14-under par, 2 ahead of her nearest competitor and shot a career-best 8 under in the opening round. The last event in the access tournament will take place in France next week and if Laura prevails she will have her LET tour card for next year.
In 2017 Laura competed in 12 LETAS events with her best finish at the Santander Golf Tour LETAS El Saler. 2016 Laura became a tournament winner where she won the Elisefarm Ladies Open.
Laura has enjoyed a successful 2014 season with 10 top twenty-five finishes. Her highest finish of the season came in the Kristianstad Ahus Ladies Open where she finished in a tie for third after being level par for three rounds. Laura’s lowest round of the season came at the Royal Belgian Golf Federation LETAS Trophy, a first round of 69, three under par, which included four birdies.
Laura, born in Aberdeenshire, Scotland has been playing golf since she was 10 years old. Laura attended Robert Gordon University where she studied sport and exercise science. As an amateur, Laura enjoyed success at international level, including winning the Scottish Ladies Matchplay Champion and representing Scotland at the World Amateur Championships. When Laura is not on the golf course or practising she is often working on her fitness in the gym.
